On Friday, Get the Fish

If traditional hour-long waits and out-the-door lines are clues, no Wisconsin road trip is complete without indulging in the quintessential Friday night fish fry.

But which one, and why? Fish fry devotees might insist that their own favorite is “the best, hands down.” Maybe it’s the lighter than-air, crunchy breading, tangy coleslaw or fresh-baked marble rye bread. or perhaps it’s the restaurant itself — longtime owners, memorable ambiance, intriguing history.
That’s the joy of the fish fry experience, and Wisconsin is prime territory to conduct your own search. here are a few of my favorites.
